This mahogany and poplar table features a mahogany inlay on the legs, with the legs tapered on the two inside edges. The top has a bevel underneath to make the top look thinner and lighter. The finish is oil and wax.
Maple and Wormy Butternut

These end tables were designed with a complementary coffee table. The top is wormy butternut, on a solid maple base. The joinery on the base is all mortice and tenon. The drawer is made with quarter-sawn maple, and is all solid wood, including the bottoms. All corners of the drawers show off hand-cut dovetails. The shape of the grain in the wood established the curves on the aprons.

Walnut and Upholstery with Ebony details

This set of table and four chairs were made for a kitchen renovation. The tabletop is made of the same granite used for the counters with a gentle curve on each side. The table is counter height so it can be used as an additional prep surface in the kitchen that was too narrow to accommodate an island. The base is solid walnut, with mortise and tenon joinery. The tenons are pinned with square ebony pins. The chairs are solid walnut with an upholstered seat. The tops of the legs are exposed with a shallow pyramid detail. All joinery is mortise and tenon, with the tenons pinned with square ebony pins, the same detail as found on the table.
Ebonized Ash
48”w x 14”d x 30”h
This hall table is made entirely of ash with the exception of the drawer box, which is made of quarter-sawn oak. The curved aprons are made with a bent lamination. The lower shelf is solid ash, and ‘floats’ in notches in the legs.
The finish is a gloss lacquer.

This table was made entirely from logs taken from the customer’s property, cleared for the construction of their house. Imagine, this table will sit close to where the trees stood, now in its second life as this table. Dark and light wood taken from these logs forms details in the inlay in the legs, and the moulding under the table’s edge. The epitomy of custom made furniture.
The finish is boiled linseed oil, and polyurethane.

These end tables were actually made as night stands to go with the headboard of similar design (seen here). The base is ebonized poplar, with a solid cherry top, and cherry bead under the apron to match the frame of the headboard.
They are actually quite high at 30”, made to be a comfortable height beside a higher bed. They can be shortened, or a similar set made for you.

This table is the second piece made from wood directly from the client’s home site. It is solid maple, with the two shelves cut from one board Both shelves appear to ‘float’ and feature the natural edge of the tree, giving the peice a light and natural feel
The arch on the aprons was designed to match the arch in the grain of the apron.
The finish is a zero VOC finish of hemp oil and wax.
